What does this mocktail taste like?

This mocktail is sweet thanks to the ripe strawberries and together with the fresh lime juice, there's a hint of tartness, which I love!

Since it doesn't contain any alcohol, this virgin daiquiri recipe is milder in taste compared to its alcoholic counterpart, making it perfect for those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages.

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS VIRGIN DAIQUIRI

Strawberry Daiquiri Mocktail Ingredients

Labeled ingredients for strawberry daiquiri mocktail.
Only 5 ingredients!
  • Strawberries. I prefer freezing fresh strawberries myself when they're in season for the most flavorful mocktail. Feel free to use frozen strawberries, if you prefer.
  • Lemon lime soda. I made this strawberry daiquiri mocktail with Sprite, but you can use your favorite soda or even tonic water.
  • Ice. I love using crushed ice.
  • Sugar. I use regular granulated sugar.
  • Lime juice. I use freshly squeezed lime juice.

See the recipe card at the end of the post for quantities.

HOW TO SERVE THIS MOCKTAIL

RECIPE NOTES

Make-ahead options and Freezing Instructions

Variations

I always prep the strawberries a day before making the mocktail. Just wash and cut the strawberries into chunks and spread them out on a tray without touching. Then put them in the freezer.

After a few hours, place them in a freezer bag or freezer-safe container so they won't absorb any smells.

I prefer making this mocktail right before serving, but you can make it ahead of time to save some time if you're hosting a party or gathering. Make the mocktail ahead of time and pour it into a freezer-safe container.

Then freeze it. Take it out of the freezer about 30-40 minutes before serving and use a fork to break up any chunks or just blend it in the blender again until it's smooth.

VARIATIONS

You can customize this mocktail according to your taste. Here are a few ideas:

  • Add other fruit - To create different exotic flavors, you can add some mangoes or pineapples. Raspberries or blueberries will add an extra burst of flavor.
  • Use different sweeteners - Play around with different kinds of sweeteners like simple syrup, honey, molasses, maple syrup, or agave syrup.
  • Add some juice - To add depth of flavor, you could include some orange juice or pineapple juice to create a fruitier taste.
  • Make a real strawberry daiquiri - Just add some white rum!

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

If you don't have a blender you can use a food processor. It will also work.

  • Use seasonal fruit - This non alcoholic daiquiri is best when using fresh, ripe strawberries that are in season. I found that they made the most flavorful drink!
  • Adjust the sweetness - Easily adjust how sweet you want your mocktail to be by adding more or less sugar.
  • Serve immediately - I think mocktails taste best when served right away. Although you could technically store it in the fridge, I believe this alters the flavor, so I don't recommend doing it.

FAQs

What can replace alcohol in a mocktail?

Non-alcoholic rum would be great!

What can I substitute for rum in a strawberry daiquiri?

I love using extra lime juice. You could also use some non-alcoholic bitters for more depth in flavor.

Can I substitute the sugar with simple syrup, honey or agave nectar?

Yes! Just keep in mind that these sweeteners have their own unique flavors that will affect the overall taste of your drink.

Baking Measurements
I have used weight measurements for all the recipes on this website. Even though I have also included American volume measurements for convenience, I highly recommend using a digital kitchen scale to weigh all ingredients for the most accurate measurements. Digital kitchen scales are more precise than cups, which is so important in baking, and they give the most accurate, consistent results. Happy baking!
