Ingredients

Flour  Soft Brown Sugar Butter Molasses Egg Spices Salt  Meringue Powder Water Powdered sugar

How To Make  Snowflake Gingerbread Cookies

Melt the butter, sugar and molasses over low heat for about a minute. Take it off the heat & let it cool.

Sift together the flour, spices and salt in a large mixing bowl.

Lightly beat the egg and pour it into the cooled molasses mixture. Whisk to combine.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and beat with a mixer until just combined.

Then add more flour, a tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.

It's perfect when you're able to lift the dough in one piece in your hand.

Roll out the dough between 2 sheets of parchment paper.

Cut with cookie cutters and place in the freezer for 5-6 minutes.

Take the dough out of the freezer and remove the cutouts. Place them on a baking sheet and bake.

Make the royal icing and decorate!
