Chocolate Covered Pecans
These easy chocolate covered pecans are the perfect bite-sized snack that are so easy to make in just a few minutes with only 2 ingredients!
Servings 40 pieces, approximately
Ingredients
- 40 pecan halves (about 2.3oz / 65g)
- 4.4oz (125g) semi-sweet baking chocolate, finely chopped
Instructions
- Line a tray with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat until fragrant and a bit darker in color, about 3- 5 minutes. Stir frequently because they can burn very quickly!
- Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pot of just simmering water (a double boiler) or in the microwave in a microwave safe bowl on high in 20 second intervals, stirring between each increment. Repeat until the chocolate has melted.
- Drop 3 pecan halves in the chocolate and coat them well on all sides.
- Use 1 or 2 forks to remove the pecans. Let any excess chocolate drip off by tapping the fork against the side of the bowl. Then place them on the parchment paper in a single layer.
- Repeat with the remaining pecans. Let the chocolate set for about an hour. If you’re in a hurry, you can put them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Enjoy!

Storage Tips
Store them in a jar or an air tight container at room temperature in a cool dark environment, for about 2 weeks. They’ll last longer, though, in the refrigerator or in the freezer, about a month.
Freezer Instructions
After the chocolate has set, put the baking sheet in the freezer. After the pecans have frozen, take them off the parchment paper and place them in freezer bags.
